Q-Rohingya's issue is an security concern for India, at the same time there is an ethical need to protect these people. What steps can India take to balance both need?
Sol-Rohingya is the one of the world most prosecuted refugee in the world as per U . They are basically resident of Myanmar but Myanmar Government under Junta didnt recognised them as state subject. The violence against them by the majority Budhist community led them to flee from their country mostly to Bangladesh, Indonesia and India.
These refugee causes following security concern for India
1.As a target for terrorist---as these are vulnerable and non-Indian, also can be easily discriminated. They can be an easy target by terrorist organisation for attack against India
2.Can be an easy carrier of drugs and other illegal material into the country.
3.Adding to unemployed population, thus creating base for violent activity, as unemployed people are more attracted to violent activity.
But its our ethical duty to protect them because of following reasons
1.Right of every indvidual to life--as they are getting prosecuted, we have to help them
2.As a major power of the region--we need to take responsibility towards the needy people
3.As a values of our society-Our society has always help people who are facing threat for eg-Jews were given protection in India
Therefore we have to take following steps to balance both above need
1.Voicing regarding their rights at international level, thus creating pressure on Myanmar to give them recognition
2.Checking and providing proper identification to them at the border, along with small skills needed so that they can be energised towards development activity
3.Engaging with other country in the region so that a collective step can be taken to protect them.
In such ways, India can live upto the ideals of its founding father of respecting every human being life.
